Jefferies superb performance in Macau

In what is generally regarded as the most difficult and challenging circuit in the world, Zimbabwe's Axcil Jefferies put in a superb performance at the Guia Street Circuit in Macau to end his first season of single seater racing. Macau is a unique event on the motorsport calendar and a number of guest drivers from Formula Three bolstered the Formula BMW field which swelled to 24 cars. The weekend didn't start well for the 15-year old Air Zimbabwe/Pioneer Corporation backed driver as a bout of food poisoning left him violently ill. He was feeling a bit better for qualifying on Saturday when he was eighth fastest having concentrated on learning the circuit.

Rounds 13 and 14 of the Formula BMW Pacific championship took competitors to the 3.7 km Okayama International Circuit in Japan where they were a support act to the FIA World Touring Car championship. Team Eurasias Zimbabwean driver Axcil Jefferies rated the circuit highly and with three drivers in contention for the title, plus a number of guest drivers thrown in for good measure, qualifying was tactical.

Spectacular Singapore Event for Axcil

Axcil arrived in Singapore upbeat and looking foward to his first Street Event in Single seaters after a string of good results in Malaysia and Indonesia. With the Formula BMW Europe Series completed, several of the top European drivers entered the Singapore event, as guest drivers,, including newly crowned European champion, Felipe Nasr, thus giving the Pacific drivers a good bench mark to compare against.
Jefferies stays in the title hunt

Axcil Jefferies kept his title hopes alive by taking two second places, one third and a fourth place finish over the four race Sentul round of the Formula BMW Pacific Series. Team mate, Chris Wootton, suffered a character building weekend with two non-finishes on Saturday but bounced back to finish sixth from last on the grid in the final race.
